My Best for His Best

The Lord Gave His Best

To the Jacob and his Family

Genesis 47:6 The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell;

To the Tribes of Israel

Deuteronomy 26:8-9 And the Lord brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders: 9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.

He gave the Best Gift to Me

Galatians 2:20  … and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Romans 5:8  But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

What can I give back to Him?

Psalms 116:12  What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me?

I’ll give Him my Best

Mark 12:30  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

The Father on Display

Our Father

Matt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

The Father Shown through Jesus Christ

John 14:7-10 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

His Name is Called Father

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

One Father

Ephesians 4:6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

One in the Same

John 10:30  I and my Father are one.

Praise the Father!

The Longest Day

Summer season makes the longest days.

Genesis 1:14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

Time to enjoy long days

Acts 14:17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

Joshua had the longest day ever!

Joshua 10:13-14 And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel.

What a miracle!

Happy Summer!

One Day

What is One Day to the Lord?

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Is One Day better than Another?

Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.

In One Day, Job Lost Everything

Job 1:13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house:

In One Day Joseph went from the Dungeon to the King’s House

Genesis 41:14 Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.

What will tomorrow bring?

Proverbs 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

James 4:13-14  Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:  14  Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

Let’s praise the Lord while we have this day!

Psalms 118:24 This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Your will or God’s Will

It takes Wisdom to Understand what the will of God is.

Ephesians 5:17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

It is important to separate our own desire from the Lord’s desire.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

It still takes self-denial to find God’s will.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

God’s will does not include sin.

1 Peter 4:1-2 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.

Doing God’s will has eternal consequences.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Do Not Stop Believing

Do you believe the Lord is able?

Matthew 9:28 And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.

Replace your fear with belief.

Mark 5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

Luke 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.

Belief is the cure for a troubled heart!

John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

Lord I believe!

John 9:38  And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.

Every Need Supplied

The Lord knows of our need.

Matthew 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

It is the Lord’s pleasure to provide.

Luke 12:31-32 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Through Jesus Christ all our needs are met.

Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Where would I be?

It is hard to know all that the Lord has saved us from.

From the Flood

Psalms 124:1 A Song of degrees of David. If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

Psalms 124:4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

From the pit

Psalms 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

From Darkness

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Thank you Lord!

Busy here and there

Too busy to notice!

1 Kings 20:40 And as thy servant was busy here and there, he was gone. And the king of Israel said unto him, So shall thy judgment be; thyself hast decided it.

Don’t be a busybody!

2 Thessalonians 3:  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

1 Timothy 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

What do we miss in our business?

Luke 10:40-41 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.  41  And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

Whose business should we be concerned with?

1 Thessalonians 4:1 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

The Lord is never too busy for you!

Who can be against us?

God is for us

Romans 8:31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Verse 32 – He will “freely give us all things”

Verse 33 – “It is God that justifieth.”

Verse 34 – Christ “maketh intercession for us.”

Romans 8:35 – Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Verse 37 – “we are more than Conquerors”

Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

JESUS TOOK CARE OF IT ALL!

Death  – who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

Life – I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly

Angles – Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Principalities or Powers – Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

Things present – In this world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

Things to come – Take no thought for tomorrow – I know what you need. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Height or Depth – (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? 10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) Creatures – Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
