One Greater than the Temple

Jesus Christ is Greater than the Temple

Matthew 12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

Solomon’s Temple

1 Kings 8:10-11  And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,  11  So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

The Temple in Heaven

Isaiah 6:1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

The LORD to come to HIS Temple

Malachi 3:1  Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

Jesus Christ in the Temple

Luke 21:37-38 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.  And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.

The Body of Christ as the Temple

John 2:19-22 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.  Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?  But he spake of the temple of his body.  When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

The Temple in Revelation

Revelation 15:5,8  And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:… And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

The Temple in New Jerusalem

Revelation 21:22-23 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
