When it is time to Pray

It is good to be disciplined in prayer – to have a place, a time, and a routine.

Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

Daniel 6:10  Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

There are also times determined by God to pray!

Joel 1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,

Time to seek the Lord!

Isaiah 55:6-7 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

Zechariah 8:21-22 And the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the Lord, and to seek the Lord of hosts: I will go also. Yea, many people and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the Lord.

The Lord told Solomon – There are times when you will just have to pray!

2 Chronicles 7:12-14 And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.  If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

1. If I shut up heaven that there be no rain (we need revival!), then pray!

2. If I command the locusts to devour the land (our work is destroyed by pests), then pray!

3. If I send pestilence among my people; (sickness and disease overcome us), then pray!

It is time to pray. Let’s humble yourselves and pray!
