Serving the Wounded

Jesus Showed How to Serve the Wounded

Mark 9:27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

The Spirit of Jesus Christ impelled to Serve the Wounded

Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Jesus Taught How to Serve the Wounded

Luke 10:30-35 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. … a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, 34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. 35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

What are some ways that Jesus taught to serve the wounded?

He had compassion on him.

He bound up his wounds (stopped the bleeding).

He poured healing on his wounds (gave healing ingredients).

He carried him away from harm and to a resting place.

He watched over him at the resting place.

He contributed resources to his benefit.

Then he said he would come back and check up on him.

Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Go, and do thou likewise!

1 Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps.

Will you follow his steps?
